Online payment mandatory for UK visa from Dec 16

From December 16, all UK-visa applicants in India will have to pay the fee online via Visa or MasterCard debit or credit cards or e-wallet (PayPal or Skrill), a British High Commission communiqué here has stated.

The other methods of payment, including payment at the application centre, will be discontinued from that date, for all applications received on that day or after that. "The move will deliver a streamlined application process consistent with a wider global trend of online transactions. This is part of our commitment of best service to Indian customers," said Thomas Greig, UK visas and immigration regional director for central and south Asia.
