Around 7 lakh students studying in more than 9,000 schools would be benefited with this new initiative. Earlier, it used to take more than three months for a student to get registered.
The minister said students who migrated or shifted to other boards and schools or vice-versa could be tracked easily with online registration. About 17,500 students had shifted from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to the state board last year.
