Additional district and sessions judge Anshu Shukla on Wednesday granted bail to Sunita, the alleged mastermind of the kidnapping, rape and murder of an 11-year-old Palsora resident.
The special court for crime against women granted bail to Sunita against bail bonds of Rs 40,000.
UT police had booked Sunita alias Billy, 30, and Bhagat Singh alias Manga, 25, both residents of Palsora, along with two drug addicts, Anirudh Kumar alias Jigra, 18, and Raj Kumar alias Raja, 20, both residents of Ram Darbar after the minor girl's body was found in a gunny bag near Palsora on December 1, 2013.
According to police, Anirudh and Raj Kumar kidnapped the victim from Palsora, Sector 56, on November 27, and kept her in the dense forest area near Sector 52 for at least three days. They sexually assaulted her before killing her on November 29 night and packed the body in a gunny bag.
The recovery of the body had led to protests in the city against police inaction, with the victim's kin refusing to cremate the body.
The police had managed to crack the case after nearly a month with the arrest of Anirudh and Raj Kumar who were arrested by SAS Nagar police in some other case. Based on their disclosure, police had later arrested Sunita and Bhagat Singh.
