Panel to probe Ludhiana medico’s suicide

Taking a serious note of the case, the Punjab government on Friday constituted a committee to probe the suicide committed by a postgraduate medical student, Supriya, of Ludhiana’s Dayanand Medical College.

Taking a serious note of the case, the Punjab government on Friday constituted a committee to probe the suicide committed by a postgraduate medical student, Supriya, of Ludhiana’s Dayanand Medical College.

The three-member probe panel announced by medical education minister Anil Joshi is chaired by Dr KD Singh, principal of Government Medical College, Patiala, a spokesman here said.

Joshi has issued strict instructions that the inquiry report be submitted within a week.

Sharing the grief of the bereaved family, the minister said it was an unfortunate incident in which a fair probe would be conducted.
