PU hostel introduces card payment facility

Panjab University's (PU) boys' hostel no 6 has become the first hostel to introduce the card payment system for paying hostel charges.

The facility, which has been introduced keeping in mind the risks of carrying large amounts of money, is an initiative of dean of student welfare Navdeep Goyal and has been implemented with the help of the SBI branch at PU.

"Residents now will now to carry cash. Besides, cash deposit facility is always available. This will also reduce the hostel staff's workload," said hostel warden Vishal Sharma.
