PU organises exhibition of stamps, blood donation camp

The department of Gandhian and peace studies, Panjab University (PU), organised a recital of 'sarva dharma prayers and bhajans', an exhibition of stamps on martyrs and a blood donation camp on Thursday.

The department of Gandhian and peace studies, Panjab University (PU), organised a recital of 'sarva dharma prayers and bhajans', an exhibition of stamps on martyrs and a blood donation camp on Thursday.

PU controller of examinations Prof Parvinder Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. He highlighted the history of the martyrs and their contribution in the freedom struggle.

People from different communities and religious backgrounds shared their views and highlighted the importance of maintaining unity among all communities during the recital of 'sarva dharma prayers and bhajans'.

Didi Lata from Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishvariya Vishwavidalya talked on peace and brotherhood.
An exhibition displaying the stamps of Gandhi and other martyrs was organised with the help of philatelist Rakesh Walia.

Faculty members, research scholars, students and the staff of Gandhian studies and other departments donated blood during the blood donation camp.
