Punjab govt depts to depute chief vigilance officers

The Punjab government on Thursday issued orders to all departments to appoint chief vigilance officers (CVOs) by October 17. The vigilance department has asked all financial commissioners, principal secretaries and administrative secretaries to appoint CVOs in their respective departments, a spokesman said here.

The Punjab government on Thursday issued orders to all departments to appoint chief vigilance officers (CVOs) by October 17.

The vigilance department has asked all financial commissioners, principal secretaries and administrative secretaries to appoint CVOs in their respective departments, a spokesman said here.

The departments, as per the order, would have to submit details of the CVOs, including his/her name, residential and official address, and phone numbers, to the vigilance department by October 17.

The departments of police, printing and stationery, animal husbandry, social security, agriculture, horticulture, transport, personnel and employment generation and training, have already submitted details of their respective CVOs. Punjab Agro and the directorate of colonisation have also submitted relevant details, the spokesman said, adding that all other departments needed to do so by October 17.
