Punjab govt notifies enhanced DA for its employees

The Punjab government on Tuesday notified enhanced dearness allowance (DA) for its employees. According to a letter issued by the finance department, DA due to employees and pensioners with effect from July 1, 2014, would be paid from March 2015.

The Punjab government on Tuesday notified enhanced dearness allowance (DA) for its employees. According to a letter issued by the finance department, DA due to employees and pensioners with effect from July 1, 2014, would be paid from March 2015.

With the enhancement, employees would be eligible for DA at the rate of 107% of the basic pay and pension against 100% presently being paid to them. The letter clarified that the DA, enhanced by 7%, would be paid in cash with the salary and pension for March.
