Punjab orders probe into 'wrong promotions' of teachers

Punjab education minister Sikander Singh Maluka today ordered a high-level inquiry into the allegations of promotion of ineligible and junior teachers as lecturers from the over 2,900 promotions made by the education department recently.

Punjab education minister Sikander Singh Maluka on Tuesday ordered a high-level inquiry into the allegations of promotion of ineligible and junior teachers as lecturers from the over 2,900 promotions made by the education department recently.

Maluka has asked SS Channi, principal secretary, education, to inquire into the whole matter and submit a report within stipulated time to fix the accountability for the wrongdoing, if any.

The minister said that he was committed to provide transparent and clean administration and any employee found colluding in any unfair method would not be spared.
