Questioning the police investigation, he said the ED had failed to summon Majithia despite his formal written complaint dated July 24, with documentary evidence prepared by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of Punjab Police regarding receipt of `70 lakh “hawala” money by the minister.

“We have learnt from reliable sources in the ED that the Badal duo is exerting tremendous pressure on them not to summon Majithia as ED falls under the purview of the central government. The Congress demands immediate removal of Majithia from the cabinet and urges the ED to summon him for a fair and impartial conclusion of the drug-related investigations,” he said in a statement.
