Rs 10,OOO reward for locating victims’ bodies

Telangana home minister N Narsimha Reddy on Sunday announced a cash award of Rs 10,000 for the locals who will locate or find body of the missing students washed away in the Beas.

Telangana home minister N Narsimha Reddy on Sunday announced a cash award of Rs 10,000 for the locals who will locate or find body of the missing students washed away in the Beas.

“Anybody among the locals who will find or help locating the bodies of missing students will be given a cash prize of Rs 10,000 along with an award certificate,” said Reddy addressing a press conference.

He said that as the administration had now decided to wait for the bodies to float automatically.

He would return to Hyderabad and some other minister would take his place. He told that a few of the parents would also return with him while some would stay here. “The search operation will also continue until the last body is recovered,” he said.

He said Telangana government had already announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased and missing students. “I will also be submitting a report on the tragedy to our chief minister,” said Reddy, adding that an action will be taken against the college on the basis of the report submitted by him and the Mandi divisional commissioner.

Meanwhile, VNR Vignana Jyothi College Management announced that the institute would return the two-year fee of the deceased students.
