SAD seeks Centre's explanation on UK help

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday demanded an explanation from the Congress-led UPA regime at the Centre on the advice and help sought by the union government on "planning and carrying out the brutal army assault on Harmandar Sahib in June 1984".

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday demanded an explanation from the Congress-led UPA regime at the Centre on the advice and help sought by the union government on "planning and carrying out the brutal army assault on Harmandar Sahib in June 1984".

A resolution passed at the SAD's core committee meeting here described as "shocking and highly condemnable" the disclosures which showed that the then late Prime Minster Indira Gandhi sought "advice and help" from the British government in ordering and executing the military action in which several people were killed.
