As per the guidelines, the preference should be given to a coach who holds Licence "B"/"A" certificate from International Sports Shooting Federation (ISSF) in the event concerned and whose students have been representing the state at the national competitions and have participated or are yet to participate in the international competition.
The coach must be a former national or international shooter or must have won a national award in shooting (Padma award/Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award/Dronacharya award/Arjuna award).
The second preference should be given to a coach who fulfills any of the above two qualifications and third preference should be given to the one who is a national or international player and national award winner.
"If the mentioned criterion is not fulfilled, he or she should be not be nominated as manager of the team and would not attract a share of the cash award," a SAI circular stated.
A woman coach or manager would accompany the team if there are women team members in the contingent.
"Coaches who are continuously imparting coaching in preparation of the team for the international competition should be nominated to accompany the team," the circular added.
