Sanya won 14-12, 5-17, 20-18. In other encounters of the category, fancied Tuba Sehar defeated Maryam Khan 21-4, 14-10, while Nidhi Gupta thrashed Akanksha 19-0, 21-4. Manu Gupta completed the semifinal line-up with a 21-4, 22-4 win over Komal Gupta.
In the corresponding sub-junior event, Sanya again produced a fine show, beating Ashu Sharma 21-0, 19-4, to make it to her second semifinal of the day. Meanwhile, Nidhi got the better of Sangini 21-0, 21-0, while Komal beat Akanksha Bhatia 16-0, 6-5. Maryam Khan defeated Kavleen Kaur 21-0, 21-0.
