The coffer of shrine Parvasi Devta(deity) was found robbed in the absence of a watchman.

The police have registered a case under various sections of CrPC yesterday and efforts were on to nab the culprit.

The state temples have massive temple wealth as its shrines receive offerings from wealthy devotees but such incidents were frequent owing to poor management of temple trusts and lack of staff in the shrines, mostly managed by the local people.

The state has now taken management of various temples under its control after forming trusts under local administration.
