Shikoh was a visionary philosopher and well-read liberal scholar of Sufism, Hinduism, Mughal philosophy. Written by Danish Iqbal, the play was directed by MS Sathyu.

A proponent of truth and secular gover nment, Dara Shikoh became the victim of a conspiracy and war initiated by his real brothers.

However, this 17th century Mughal prince was executed after losing the war of succession among Emperor Shah Jahan’s sons, his legacy lives till today in invincibility.

“In the present context, we can counter religious intolerance and bigotry with the humanism of Dara Shikoh, who represents the softer side of Islam and is most qualified to project the message of love and peace.”

Anurag Arora shined through the production as Dara Shikoh. Thespians Atamjit and GS Channi honoured director KK Kohli and actors. ‘Kuch ishq kiya kuchh kaam’ will be staged at Tagore Theatre tomorrow.
