Student beaten up for not answering question in Rohtak

A Class 7 student has been allegedly beaten up by his teacher for not answering a question at Sammain village of Meham town in Rohtak on Thursday.

A Class 7 student has been allegedly beaten up by his teacher for not answering a question at Sammain village of Meham town in Rohtak on Thursday.

The victim has been identified as Ashish, a resident of Sammaain village. Pawan, father of the victim, lodged a complaint with Meham police station.

According to the complaint, Sanskrit teacher Vajir Singh had beaten his son mercilessly when he failed to give answer to a question put to him in the class.

Victim's father said: "My son received internal injuries and was admitted to the hospital".

Meham station house officer, Ram Kishan said: "We have received a complaint in this regard, but the issue has been resolved amicably by both the parties".

District education elementary officer, Krishna Dalal said: "Corporal punishment of any kind is completely banned in schools and education department will conduct an inquiry into the said incident and appropriate action will be taken "
