Student found dead in Kurukshetra

An engineering student was found dead in his hostel room at National Institute of Technology in Kurukshetra on Wednesday.The deceased has been identified as Jitender, a second-year student of BTech (civil).

A native of Palwal district, Jitender was found dead at room number 248 of Drocharaya Bhawan in the institute.

Nafe Singh, in charge of Kurukshetra University police post, said Jitender was found hanging from a ceiling fan by hostellers.

He said no suicide note was recovered from the room and according to hostellers, Jitender died between 1 and 2pm.

Singh said Jitender's friends had told police that he was under depression due to his poor academic performance.

He said police were investigating the matter from all possible angles.
