Synthetic drugs: Cong seeks Mittal’s resignation
Former Chamkaur Sahib MLA and senior Congress leader Shamsher Singh Rai has demanded the resignation of Punjab industries minister Madan Mohan Mittal for his statement regarding the manufacture of synthetic drugs in the state.

Former Chamkaur Sahib MLA and senior Congress leader Shamsher Singh Rai has demanded the resignation of Punjab industries minister Madan Mohan Mittal for his statement regarding the manufacture of synthetic drugs in the state.
During a press conference here a couple of days ago, Mittal had stated that synthetic drugs were manufactured in Punjab.
Rai said Mittal was part of the state government and he must share the blame for the synthetic drug trade.
The Congress leader said the minister’s stand on the issue was contrary to that of Akali leaders who claimed that synthetic drugs were not manufactured in Punjab.
