Teacher held for sodomising student in Rajouri

A Rehbar-e-Taleem teacher of Government Education Department was arrested for allegedly sodomising a student in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The teacher has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmed, posted at Government Primary School, Jagrian village in Rajouri was arrested on Thursday for allegedly sodomising a third standard student.

The teacher, while on his way home, took the eight-year-old to the nearby maize field and committed the offence, the police said.

The family lodged a complaint and the teacher was arrested. A case has been registered under Section 377 of RPC and investigations are in progress.

The matter has also been brought to the notice of the education department for further action.
