Thousands of devotees throng Chamkaur Sahib on Jor Mela

Braving intense cold wave, thousands of devotees thronged gurdwara Katalgarh Sahib and other historic gurdwaras at Chamkaur Sahib to pay obeisance on the first day of the three-day annual Shaheedi Jor fair.

Braving intense cold wave, thousands of devotees thronged gurdwara Katalgarh Sahib and other historic gurdwaras at Chamkaur Sahib to pay obeisance on the first day of the three-day annual Shaheedi Jor fair a being organised in the memory of two elder sahibzadas (sons) of Guru Gobind Singh and other Sikhs, who had attained martyrdom while fighting the Mughals in 1704.

Besides, the akhand paths have started at all historic gurdwaras of Chamkaur Sahib. However, bhog will be held on December 23.

Langars (community kitchens) have also come up at various places. On this occasion, a blood donation camp was also held by Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh youth club coordination committee.

Rupnagar district administration, police administration, and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) have made elaborate arrangements for the facility of devotees visiting Chamkaur Sahib.
