Ruchika's family and the CBI had also filed petitions seeking enhancement of the sentence to maximum two years.

On May 20, Additional District and Sessions Judge Gurbir Singh fixed May 25 for delivering the judgement on all the three pleas.

The Judge had earlier fixed May 20 for pronouncing the verdict but deferred it till Tuesday saying he needed more time to complete the process of writing the judgement.

The court had heard arguments on day-to-day basis from May three to 11. The proceedings were held in camera.

Rathore was sentenced to six-month imprisonment on December 21 last year by a CBI court for molesting Ruchika, then aged 14, at Panchkula on August 12, 1990.

Three years after she was molested, the budding tennis player committed suicide.
