A chain snatching incident was reported at the Phase 9 market here on Tuesday.The victim, aged in the mid-40s, was walking in the residential area, when a youth came from behind, snatched her gold chain and fled the scene.

The woman raised an alarm and some residents tried to catch the youth, but he managed to flee. Following the Mehram Singh murder case, security in Phase 9 and surrounding areas was high and police officials were present in the area in civvies. A case has been registered in this regard.
