Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai mourns death of 3 cops on duty
Three Bengaluru cops were killed in a road accident near Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday mourned the death of three police personnel who were killed in a road accident in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor on Sunday. He ordered the Bengaluru Police Commissioner Pratap Reddy to extend help to the affected families.

CM Bommai took to social media and wrote “Saddened by tragic road accident near Puthalpattu, Chittoor District. Heartfelt condolences to families of PSI Avinash, PC Anil Mulik & driver Maxwell. Wish speedy recovery to PSI Dikshit &PC Sharanbasava. Instructed @CPBlr to support bereaved families &take care of the injured. (Sic)
Earlier, Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra too paid condolences to the families of police personnel. “It is unfortunate that PSI Avinash, PC Anil Malik and driver Maxwell died in a road accident. May the departed soul rest in peace. PSI Dixit and PC Sharanbasava are injured and wish them a speedy recovery. (Sic)” wrote the minister.
The tragic incident occurred while the police personnel were travelling to the neighboring state Andhra Pradesh to catch a drug peddler. The vehicle carrying them rammed into the divider and it left two other police personnel injured. All five police personnel who went to Andhra Pradesh on an operation are said to be posted at Shivaji Nagar police station of Bengaluru.
