A 33-year-old man died of a drug overdose in Zirakpur on Friday. The deceased’s body was found on the stairs.

The deceased, identified as a native of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, lived at a rented house near Lucky Dhaba located on Zirakpur-Patiala road.

During police investigation, it came to light that Naveen’s wife had left him because of his addiction. Police have informed the deceased’s family members and a post-mortem will be conducted after their arrival. His body has kept in the mortuary of the civil hospital, Derabassi,

Station house officer (SHO) Deepinder Singh said the deceased had rented a house on the second floor of an electronic shop near Lucky Dhaba on Patiala road.

According to the information given by the police, the deceased also had a one-year-old child. He was unemployed and was living alone.
