4 students from PU’s UIET bag ₹45-lakh packages
According to figures shared by PU’s UIET, as many as 347 of the 531 eligible students have already secured jobs. Many students have also received multiple offers, taking their total number of offers to 383. Last year, the total number of offers stood at 434.
As many as four students of Panjab University’s University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) have been offered jobs paying ₹45 lakh per annum by Amazon during the ongoing campus placement drive for the current session.

Among them, three students — Bhavya Nayyer, Japnoor Monga and Nancy — are from computer science engineering (CSE), while the fourth, Sukhvir Kaur, is from electronics and communication engineering (ECE).
According to figures shared by UIET, as many as 347 of the 531 eligible students have already secured jobs. Many students have also received multiple offers, taking their total number of offers to 383. Last year, the total number of offers stood at 434.
After Amazon, American Express has recruited 14 students at the second-highest annual package of ₹18.1, while ZS Associates has hired 18 students for ₹13.7 lakh per annum (LPA).
During the last session, as many as 12 UIET students were offered jobs paying ₹45 lakh per annum by Amazon during the campus placement drive. During the 2020-2021 session, the highest annual package (on campus) offered was ₹30 LPA, also by Amazon.
Average package goes up
According to information shared by the institute, the annual average package stood at ₹8.89 LPA this year compared to ₹7.69 LPA in 2021-2022 and ₹6.96 LPA in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, the average was ₹6.87 LPA at UIET.
More than 100 students grabbed offers with a CTC above ₹10 LPA during this session.
Sarbjeet Singh, training and placement officer, UIET, said, “Although there was a slowdown this year and companies recruited less students, we were still able to attract more companies and the average package also went up. Not only UG students, PG students have also bagged lucrative offers this year.”
Top recruiters
The top recruiters this year include Amazon, Samsung, American Express, JSW , ZS Associates, Reliance, L’Oreal, Deloitte, Tata Power, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Finxera, Cognizant, KPMG, Hashedin, Edurev, Gemini Solutions, Utrade, Mylo, Infosys, Policy Bazaar, Locofast, L&T Technology Services Limited and BYJU’s.
Institute director JK Goswamy said, “Despite the uncertain economic conditions globally, the placement statistics at UIET are very encouraging. The efforts of faculty and students deserve all appreciation. We hope to continue with this trend in future too.”
