60-year-old woman found murdered in Karnal village

The deceased has been identified as Sona Devi, a resident of the Kunjpura village in Karnal. The family members of the deceased woman have alleged that she was murdered but police said the investigation is on and the body has been sent for the post-mortem.

The charred body of a 60-year-old woman has been recovered from a room constructed in the fields in Kunjpura village of Karnal district, the police said on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Sona Devi, a resident of the Kunjpura village. The family members of the deceased have alleged that she was murdered but police said the investigation is on and the body has been sent for the post-mortem. Darshan Singh, in-charge of Kunjpura police station, said the actual cause of the death could be ascertained only after the post-mortem report, but the police teams were investigating the case from different angles.

MoU signed to provide skill training

CHANDIGARH Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, on Friday inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Union government’s micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) technology centre (Rohtak) to facilitate industrial training, technical skill development, cutting- edge skills for industry employment, and entrepreneurial skills development of university students. CDLU registrar Dr Rajesh Kumar Bansal and deputy manager, MSME technology centre (Rohtak), Ashwani Kant signed the MoU in the presence of CDLU vice- chancellor Prof Ajmer Singh Malik and other senior functionaries of the varsity. V-C Prof Malik said that this MoU is a new beginning which will facilitate employability of students and serve the purpose of skilling the needs of university students.

Over 2k missing persons traced in Rohtak

Rohtak The Rohtak range police have traced 2,196 persons out of 2,449 missing persons in the last one year from Rohtak, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri and Jhajjar districts. Rohtak range IG Rakesh Arya said of these traced persons, 644 are men and 1,149 are women. “We have traced the missing persons from various parts of Haryana and other states. The other social organisations have also helped the police in tracing the missing persons by visiting railway stations, bus stands, religious places and other venues,” the IG added.
