No Himachal resident is stranded in the war-torn Ukraine anymore, chief minister Jai Ram Thakur said in the assembly on Monday.
Himachal CM Jai Ram Thakur said that the government of India has made every effort with utmost sensitivity for the safety and safe return of Indian citizens trapped in Ukraine.
Making a suo-moto statement in the House, the chief minister said that the government was concerned about the safety of people, mostly students, stranded in Ukraine. “Due to the closure of Ukraine’s airspace, Indian nationals stranded there were brought back through special flights from the border countries under ‘Operation Ganga’,” said Thakur, expressing gratitude towards the Union government for its efforts. The situation in Ukraine is a global crisis and I wish this war ends soon, he said.
