Despite earlier directions to implement Aadhaar-linked salary disbursement starting November, the system could not be fully operationalised due to technical and administrative delays.
Reviewing the matter seriously, MC commissioner Amit Kumar convened a high-level meeting on Wednesday to assess the progress of the biometric integration. Expressing dissatisfaction over the repeated delays, he issued clear and strict instructions that salaries for the month of December will be released only after linking the Aadhaar-based biometric attendance system for every MC employee, without exception.
The commissioner directed all heads of departments and branch in-charges to ensure immediate compliance with this mandate. He cautioned that failure to adhere to these instructions would invite appropriate disciplinary action against the responsible officers. He further emphasised that from December onward, no physical verification of attendance will be accepted for salary processing under any circumstances.
