Chandigarh sees coldest April day in 3 years amid fresh rain spell

The lowest maximum temperature that the city has seen since March 21 when it was at 25.1°C. On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.9°C

Day temperatures saw a four degree drop on Tuesday as a fresh Western Disturbance brought rain to the city. At 27.6°C, this was the lowest day temperature for April seen in the city since 2023 when it had gone down to 25.5°C on April 4.

This was also the lowest maximum temperature that the city has seen since March 21 when it was at 25.1°C. On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.9°C.

As per India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials, more rain is on cards on Wednesday as well. Accordingly, an orange alert for rain, thunderstorms, and hail has been issued. Met officials said that the chances of rain will continue till the early hours of Thursday. The mercury is also expected to slide further down, they added.

Meanwhile, the minimum temperature rose from 14.9°C on Monday to 18.8°C on Tuesday, which is normal. Over the next three days, the maximum temperature will remain between 22°C and 28°C. The minimum temperature will remain between 14°C and 16°C.
