Chandigarh’s daily Covid tally jumps to 31

The Covid infected patients are residents of Sectors 2, 5, 8, 15, 16, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 35, 36, 39, 41, 42, 48, 50 and 56, Dhanas, Khuda Alisher and Manimajra

Rising steadily for the past week, Chandigarh’s daily Covid-19 case tally rose further from 21 on Friday to 31 on Saturday.

The infected patients are residents of Sectors 2, 5, 8, 15, 16, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 35, 36, 39, 41, 42, 48, 50 and 56, Dhanas, Khuda Alisher and Manimajra.

With the fresh cases, the city’s active cases also jumped to 95. So far, no cluster of infection has been identified in the city.

Chandigarh has recorded 99,513 Covid cases till date. Of the total patients, 98,235 have recovered and 1,183 have died.

Meanwhile, 12 cases were also reported in Mohali on Saturday, taking the total case count to 1,01,308, including 1,00,054 recoveries, 1,168 deaths and 86 active cases.

Panchkula also logged nine cases. Here, 48,490 people have been infected. Of them, 48,036 have been cured, 420 have died and 33 are still infected.
