Congress high command has lost its grip on Punjab unit: Jakhar
The Punjab BJP president alleged that the event was only meant to discipline the divided state unit and ended up exposing Rahul Gandhi’s weak leadership
CHANDIGARH Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar on Saturday said the manner in which Rahul Gandhi was compelled to visit Punjab and publicly admonish his own party leaders showed that the Congress high command had lost control over its state unit.

“There was neither any agenda for Punjab nor any discussion about farmers or labourers. Instead, it was a desperate attempt by an already ineffective Congress high command, through Rahul Gandhi, to publicly humiliate and force the fragmented Punjab state leadership into unity by issuing a warning. However, in doing so, Rahul Gandhi not only turned the state leadership into a subject of public ridicule but also exposed his own weak leadership abilities,” said Jakhar in a social media post, referring to Gandhi’s warning that leaders must act as team players or face action from him and Mallikarjun Kharge.
He said for an issue which could have been explained behind closed doors, Congress had to organise a rally and publicly lecture its own state leaders.
