No ‘nafrat ka bazaar’: Congress misleading people: Rajnath Singh in Yamunanagar
Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday slammed Rahul Gandhi over his “nafrat ka bazaar” remarks, saying the Congress leader’s so-called “mohabbat ki dukaan” was not needed. He said this while addressing a ‘Gauravshali Bharat’ rally at Yamunanagar’s Jagadhri grain market on the completion of nine years of the Modi government at the Centre.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday slammed Rahul Gandhi over his “nafrat ka bazaar” remarks, saying the Congress leader’s so-called “mohabbat ki dukaan” was not needed.
He said this while addressing a ‘Gauravshali Bharat’ rally at the Jagadhri grain market on the completion of nine years of the Modi government at the Centre.
In an apparent reference to Congress leader Rahul’s campaign to “end hate in India” and his Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rajnath said, “Yaha koi nafrat ka bazaar nahi hai, toh yaha unki mohabbat ki dukaan nahi lag sakti” (There is no market of hatred here, so there cannot be a shop of love).
Mocking at Rahul without naming him, he said that there is a Congress leader who roams around saying that there is lot of “nafrat” in the country and he is here to open “mohabbat ki dukaan”, while asking the gathering if there is any “nafrat” here.
“He thinks that there is love only in his heart in the entire country. Where is the hate? Did Prime Minister Narendra Modi check on the religion of the beneficiaries before opening a toilet or giving subsidy to a farmer?” Rajnath added.
“They are uttering nonsense to unnecessarily mislead people,” he said, attacking the Congress.
The Union minister was accompanied by Haryana home minister Anil Vij, school education minister Kanwar Pal, BJP state president Om Prakash Dhankar and other leaders.
The leaders paid tribute to late MP from Ambala seat, Rattan Lal Kataria, who died last month and remembered their last meeting with him.
In his 40-minute address, Rajnath shared details about the development works and schemes by the Modi government during the last nine years.
He said, “Through direct benefit transfer, the subsidies and pensions are reaching directly to the bank accounts that were opened by our government under the Jan Dhan scheme, curbing corruption”.
He said that the country’s stature rose under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
“Until a few years ago, India was not taken seriously at the global forums, but today the entire world listens to what India is saying because of Modi... Several credible financial bodies have projected India to be among the top three economies in the world by 2027,” he added.
“The defence exports have jumped from ₹900 crore to ₹16,000 crore and we have set a target to achieve defence equipment exports target of ₹40,000 crore by 2026,” he said.
He praised the Manohar Lal Khattar government in Haryana and said there is complete transparency in giving jobs to the youth.
He asked people at the rally if they had spent “a single paisa” for getting a job.
During their addresses, speakers stressed on the construction and likely opening of Ram Temple in Ayodhya by January next year just ahead of the general elections, along with other issues like abrogation of article 370 and opposition unity.
However, none of the leaders made a reference on the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), an issue of serious discussion that has gained prominence days after the Prime Minister has started pushing for it.
