Fresh rains lash parts of Kashmir

Fresh rains lashed parts of Kashmir valley, leading to a drop in the day temperature, while the upper reaches witnessed a light spell of snow.
The MeT office has predicted rains for next two days and said that the weather will remain erratic for a couple of days.
Locals have been advised to postpone spraying in their orchards.
The MeT office in a statement said that for next two days, there could be widespread rain and thunderstorm with snowfall over higher reaches at most places of J&K while there will be a possibility of hailstorm in the plains. “Thunderstorm may be accompanied by strong gusty winds. Rain is likely to commence from afternoon,” it said.
Srinagar recorded 5.3°Celsius temperature, 0.3°Celsius above normal. Pahalgam recorded 0.6°Celsius, 0.2°Celsius above normal while Kokernag saw 4.7°C.
Gulmarg witnessed 0°Celsius whereas Jammu registered a low of 14.9°Celsius against 13.8°Celsius on the previous night. Ladakh’s Leh and Kargil registered -3°Celsius and -1.9°Celsius, respectively.
