The committee, led by the chairman, was in Kurukshetra, where they participated in a program organised by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of the Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar.
Nagvanshi said that despite Madhya Pradesh growing high-yield and excellent-quality wheat, the government has been unable to control stubble burning.
“However, Haryana has done commendable work on crop residue management. In 2018, 901 cases of stubble burning were reported in the state, while in 2025, this figure dropped to 12. This is an impressive result,” he said.
The delegation also praised the government’s outline of rules and subsidies for crop residue management. These facts and issues will be presented to the Madhya Pradesh government, and proposals will be made to ensure smooth crop residue management, the BJP MLA said.
Sandeep Rawal, coordinator, KVK, Yamunanagar, detailed information on in-situ and ex-situ management, agricultural machinery, the container hiring center, the status of stubble burning in the district since 2018.
Rawal informed that the KVK also organised farmer fairs, highlighting ways to prevent stubble burning, conducted frontline demonstrations, farmer training, and village, block, and district-level awareness programs, as well as awareness programs for school and college students.
