Jai Ram inaugurates Himachal’s first drone school in Kangra
Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jai Ram Thakur said that drone technology is being used to demarcate land and prepare documents of populated areas in the state
Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday inaugurated the state’s first drone pilot school at Industrial Training Institute in Shahpur of Kangra district.
“Drones are a new dimension of modern-era technology which can be easily controlled by any person and can also be used for daily tasks,” he said while inaugurating the facility.
Jai Ram said that drone was an innovative technology that could be highly useful for keeping vigil on crops, besides being used for spraying of pesticides and insecticides. He said even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the state governments to promote drones.
The chief minister said that drone technology was being used to demarcate land and prepare documents of populated areas in the state.
He said the biggest advantage of using drones was not only that they reduced cost, but also saved a lot of time. He said that drone technology will prove to be useful for the youth in the coming times and important steps will be taken towards training them for this.
Social justice and empowerment minister Sarveen Chaudhary, while welcoming the chief minister to her constituency, said this ITI was one of the oldest in the state. She said this school would go a long way in providing jobs and self-employment oriented training to the youth of the area.
Industries and transport minister Bikram Thakur, former MLA Surender Kaku, district BJP president Chander Bhushan Nag, zila parishad chairperson Ramesh Brar, director technical education Vivek Chandel, Kangra DC Nipun Jindal, and SP Khushal Chand Sharma were among those present there.
