Wine contractors in Chandigarh are protesting cut in liquor prices in Punjab, which has made liquor in Chandigarh costlier

The Chandigarh Wine Contractors’ Association has decided to keep liquor vends in Chandigarh closed on Wednesday.

The vendors are protesting against the cut in liquor prices under the new Punjab excise policy, which has made the liquor in Chandigarh costlier than Punjab.

Demanding relief from the UT administration, the association said due to Punjab’s proximity to the city, lower liquor prices in the state will directly affect the sales in Chandigarh.
