Police arrested two men on Sunday for selling banned plastic kite string in separate cases.
One Ritesh Kumar of Desu Colony in Meharban was arrested with 62 spools of the banned string on the basis of a tip-off.
Meanwhile, one Harnek Singh of New Shastri Nagar was arrested while selling the banned string outside his residence and 21 spools were recovered from him.
They have both been booked under Sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 336 (endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal code.
