Ludhiana: 34 booked for assaulting family, stealing ₹8 lakh cash, gold

The Division Number 5 police have registered a case against 34 persons, including nine named accused and 25 unidentified individuals, for allegedly storming into a house in Manjit Nagar and assaulting the family, and fleeing with cash and gold jewellery.

An FIR was lodged on the complaint of Gagandeep Singh of Manjit Nagar.

According to the complainant, the incident took place around 7 pm on May 13 when the accused allegedly entered his house and attacked his grandmother, wife and younger sister. Gagandeep said he was at his shop when the incident occurred and was also assaulted after reaching home.

The complainant further alleged that while fleeing, the accused decamped with gold jewellery and 8 lakh in cash kept inside the house.

Head constable Bhupinder Singh said a case has been registered under multiple sections of criminal intimidation, mischief, theft of the Bhartiya Nayaya Sanhita. Further investigation is underway.
