Ludhiana: 5 injured as 2 groups clash over kids’ scuffle in Islam Ganj
A heavy police force has been deputed in the Islam Ganj area, Ludhiana, to avoid any untoward situation. Five persons from both groups suffered minor injuries in the clash.
A minor scuffle between two children led to a violent clash between two groups in which five persons suffered injuries in Islam Ganj, one of the thickly populated areas of the city, on Friday night.
The residents after the incident staged a protest outside the police station Division number 2 demanding action against the family that created ruckus by allegedly throwing stones and bricks. At least five persons from both groups suffered minor injuries in the clash.
The police intervened in the matter and pacified them but on Saturday evening, but both groups indulged in a minor scuffle again. A heavy police force has been deputed in the area to avoid any untoward situation.
Two boys aged around 10 years in the area had a fight over a minor issue while playing together. Meanwhile, a girl was on a video call with her relative outside the house. The boys assumed that she was recording their video while they were fighting. One of the boys went home and narrated the incident to his family. He also complained about the girl recording his video. The boy’s family started abusing the family members of the other boy and the girl’s family.
After a heated argument, they indulged in a scuffle. The residents accused the boy’s family of pelting them with stones and bricks and creating ruckus in the area. Videos of the incident had also gone viral.
Inspector Arshpreet Kaur Grewal, SHO at police station Division number 2, said the families had indulged in a spat over a minor issue of a fight between children. The police have asked them to record their statements for lodging an FIR. After the scuffle, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi reached the spot and intervened in the matter.
