The accused have been identified as Baaji Singh and Ganesh.

Soni said he had first hired Ganesh just a month ago, who later said he had to return home to attend a wedding, and that Baaji will work at the house in his absence.

According to police, Ganesh had given the guard and dogs food laced with sedatives and committed the theft after they lost consciousness.

“On November 21, the security guard called and informed me about the theft at our house. Following which, we drove back home,” said Soni.

Soni said the thieves broke open the house’s lock with construction rods and ransacked it. Before leaving, they damaged the CCTV cameras and took away the DVR with them.

PAU police have registered a case under Sections 381 (theft), 457 (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment) and 34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code. Police suspect that the accused were aware that the family would leave the house to attend a wedding and planned the theft in advance.
