Commissioner of police Mandeep Singh Sidhu transferred inspector Satpal on Wednesday. More transfers are on the cards.

Earlier, the underperforming SHOs were transferred, but the reason for shifting was not put on record.

In the transfer orders, the commissioner of police have mentioned the reason ‘average performace’ behind transfer of Inspector Satpal. He has been replaced by Inspector Sukhdev Singh, who was earlier SHO at police station Sahnewal.

Commissioner of police Sidhu said that he had conveyed his message to all the SHOs that he will not tolerate laxity and had given them time to improve their performance.

“There are some set parameters to evaluate the performance of the SHOs, such as recovery of drugs and arrest of drug peddlers. Prevention and detection of crime are other parameters. We also consider how many cases the SHOs and their teams have traced and how many cases are pending. Their public dealing and if there are complaints against them,” said the commissioner of police.

“The department makes a month-wise performance report of all the officers. After reviewing the report, I made the decision. The action is a message to other officers also that if they will not perform, they will be transferred,” he added.

The Commissioner of Police has also shuffled some of the SHOs. Inspector Inderjit Singh, who was posted at Police Lines on general duty, has been transferred as SHO police station Sahnewal.

Sub-Inspector Paramjit Singh, who was deputed in MA Branch in office of commissioner of police has been transferred as SHO police station Koom Kalan. He has replaced sub-inspector Kulbir Singh. Sub-Inspector Kulbir Singh has been transferred as SHO police station Daba, as inspector Ranbir Singh, who was SHO at police station Daba, has been transferred out of district. Sub-inspector Parwinder Kaur has been transferred as incharge, Child and Women cell Zone 4. She has replaced inspector Kiran Lata, who has been transferred to Police Lines.
