Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state chief and MP Bhagwant Mann on Sunday accused the BJP government at the Centre of trying to provoke the people of the state by continuously implementing anti-Punjab decisions.

Citing the recent appointment to the post of managing director of Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO), Mann alleged that the central government was taking away the state’s rights and claims. “Following the abolition of Punjab’s representation in Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) and removal of Punjab Police from protection of dams, they have now robbed Punjab of this post. A few days ago, 112 doctors from Punjab were also expelled from the Chandigarh health department,” he claimed.

The AAP leader said under the Punjab Reorganization Act, 60% share of Punjab was reserved in all kinds of services and management in Chandigarh. He also challenged the former ally of the BJP, Shiromani Akali Dal, and current allies Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa’s SAD (Sanyukt) and Capt Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress, to stop the Centre from taking such decisions.
