Leader of opposition Partap Singh Bajwa termed the state government and Punjab Police crackdown against Amritpal Singh, chief of Waris Punjab De, a botched-up operation.
Addressing a press conference in Jalandhar on Friday, Bajwa said chief minister Bhagwant Mann has failed to fix responsibility of officials in the ‘failed’ operation against Amritpal and also television interviews of gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi from inside the jail.
The senior Congress leader also blamed the Centre and state for trying to disturb law and order in Punjab. “Both the state and central agencies are hell bent upon disturbing peace and harmony in the border state,” Bajwa said.
He said chief minister Bhagwant Mann and the Punjab DGP should answer as to how Amritpal managed flee despite heavy police deployment. .
