Continuing their purple patch, Punjab recorded a fine six-wicket win over Tripura in their Ranji Trophy tie played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi, on Saturday.

It is the second win for the side from the three matches they have played so far in the season.
Earlier, on the second day of the match, Punjab bowled out Tripura for 232 runs in their second innings and needed to post 240 runs on the board to register a win.
Tripura’s MB Mura Singh removed opener Prabhsimran Singh on a duck in the first over itself. Anmolpreet Singh and Mandeep Singh, however, titled the match back in Punjab’s favour with emphatic 64- and 97-run innings respectively. They stitched together a 99-partnership for the third wicket.
Mandeep Singh and Ramandeep Singh later contributed 77 runs for the fourth wicket to ensure Punjab’s win.
With today’s win over Tripura, Punjab grabbed seven crucial points including one bonus point and now is on the top position in Group F and has ensured a pre-quarterfinal berth.
