Newly elected sarpanches on Sunday held a state-level meeting in Hisar and announced that they will protest outside the houses of ruling BJP-JJP MLAs and independent legislators supporting the government from February 7.

The meeting was chaired by Ram Chander Sheoran and a 25-member committee was formed to decide the course of agitation against the government after it curtailed the spending powers of the village heads, besides bringing in the Right to Recall Act in the panchayats. The protesters are demanding the withdrawal of e-tendering in the development works in villages and opposing the Right to Recall Act.

Ram Chander Sheoran said they will hold protests outside the houses of MLAs supporting the BJP-JJP government in Haryana.

“We will protest outside the residences of 58 MLAs on February 7. If the BJP-JJP government fails to address our issues, we will carry out a tractor-march across the state, gherao the Haryana state assembly and will take a foot-march to the Parliament. The government should take back e-tendering process decisions and Right To Recall Act,” he added.
