Police apprehended a teenager for allegedly molesting a 13-year-old differently-abled girl after finding her alone at her house in Guru Amardas Colony.
A first information report (FIR) has been registered based on the statement of the minor’s mother.
The complainant told police that both she and her husband work and her two daughters would stay alone at home.
On Wednesday, when she returned home, her elder daughter informed her about the accused molesting her younger sister
As per her account, she went to the market to buy groceries in the afternoon after locking her 13-year-old sister, who has a mental disability.
When she returned home, she was shocked to see the accused was molesting the girl after having barged in the house. The accused fled when she raised an alarm.
They immediately informed the police and filed a complaint.
Sharing further details, inspector Balwinder Kaur, station house officer (SHO) at the Division number 6 police station, stated that a case under section 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act has been registered against the accused, who is a minor.
The police nabbed the boy immediately after registering the FIR.
22-year-old held for sodomising Class 9 student
Police arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly sodomising a Class 9 student after taking him to an abandoned building at the Hayatpur village.
The accused has been identified as Rahul of Hayatpur.
A first information report FIR has been registered following the complaint of the 13-year-old’s father. The complainant told police that his son came home crying on June 25. On being asked, he said the accused took him to an abandoned building and sodomised him. The accused also threatened the minor against speaking of his ordeal.
Sharing further details, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Randhir Singh, who is investigating the case, said the incident occurred on May 28, but the boy was scared to tell anyone about it. However, on June 25, the accused again tried to sexually assault him. The minor managed to escape and narrated the ordeal to his father. The family lodged a complaint with the police on Wednesday.
A case under sections 377 (sodomy), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and section 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested him.
