Three shops gutted near Dadumajra

Maloya police officials said an emergency call was received around 11.45 am, following which nine fire engines were rushed to the spot. Firefighters took around two hours to bring the blaze under control

The junk market near Dadumajra on Togan village road in Mullanpur caught fire on Friday afternoon, damaging several shops, officials said. While the cause of the blaze has not been determined yet, officials said at least three shops were gutted. No one was injured.

Firefighters took around two hours to bring the blaze under control. There are around 30 shops with tin-shed roofs in the market. Three of them were gutted, while a few others also suffered losses.

Though a short circuit is suspected, fire officials said they would investigate to ascertain what triggered the fire.
