Addressing a gathering in Subathu in Solan, he said the country attained freedom after a long struggle and sacrifices. “That’s why it is vital that the younger generation is also sensitised about the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters,” he added.

Jai Ram said Himachal has made unparalleled development in all spheres during these 75 years. He said there were only 301 educational institutions, 88 health institutions, 240 per capita income and 228km of road network in the state at the time of formation, whereas today, there are over 16,124 educational institutions, 4,320 health institutions, 2,01,854 per capita income and over 39,500km roads in HP. He said the credit of this goes to the hard work and dedication of each and every Himachali.

He said that even far-flung villages like Malana and Bara Bhangal were covered during the special vaccination drive for Covid, which the state pioneered.

The CM said that people of the country have totally rejected the Congress. “Now, it is the turn of people of Himachal to ensure that the BJP again forms government in the state so that the pace of development due to the double engine government goes uninterrupted,” he added.

Jai Ram said the present state government has started several welfare schemes for welfare of every section of the society. He said over 3.32 lakh gas connections were provided free of cost under the Grihini Suvidha Yojana, while 50% concession was being provided in HRTC buses to women passengers and free drinking water was being given to rural consumers. In addition to this, 125 units of free electricity was also being provided to domestic consumers, he added.

Health minister and Kasauli MLA Dr Rajiv Saizal said the state has witnessed unprecedented development during the tenure of the present government.
