DCP (Shahdara) R Sathiyasundaram said Jagatpuri police station received a call on Sunday at 6.49pm informing them that one Abhinav, 22, had been injured in the neck by a glass-coated kite string while riding a motorcycle.

Police said that one Danish, who works as a translator with Amazon, was passing by when he saw Abhinav bleeding. Danish immediately took him to the hospital in an auto-rickshaw. “Danish’s efforts are highly appreciated. The patient is under treatment. He was operated upon by the doctors, and is in the ICU but in a stable condition,” the DCP said.

Police said Abhinav is preparing for MBA and was on his way to Jagatpuri where his sister lives.
